Image
Docia's Nest P. O. Box M171 Accra 1st October, 2015 The CEO GDA Concepts Ltd. Accra Dear Madam, YOUR MARRIAGE, A TESTIMONIAL TO GHANAIAN LADIES In His time, in His time He makes all things beautiful in His time Lord please show me everyday As you're teaching me your way  That you do just what you say In your time Words cannot describe the feeling that news about your impending marriage has brought to me and all young ladies in this country. I wish to inform you that you are not the only person celebrating your hubby, but every single lady who is also expecting same breakthrough. When news broke out in mainstream and social media, I couldn't help but give God all the glory because alas, I know that our God never fails. He said in His word that it is not good for man to be alone and therefore, He would make him a helper suitable for him. Surely He has done just what He said. I have known you personally just a few years a...

Ghana: The 2nd Lady's Saga - Why Government Policies Don't Impact

Image
Since the days of Ghana's first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, governments have formulated and implemented a lot of social interventions with the view to better the lives of its citizens. However, most of these interventions either do not impact on the lives of the beneficiaries, or become white elephants only housing dusts. Interventions like the Free Education for natives of Northern Ghana introduced by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, even though a laudable idea, has not really made the intended impact as the three Northern regions continue to be marginalized when it comes to access to education and employment. Beneficiary participation is very crucial when it comes to Strategic Planning. Again for a viable social or educational intervention to make impact, there is the need to conduct a Needs Assessment. This activity allows the beneficiary(ies) an opportunity to state exactly what they need, and it also enables the sponsor to know exactly what impact his/her funds are intended for. ...

Ghana: Gay Doctor gaoled 25 years for sodomizing 16 year old boy

Image
An Accra Circuit Court has this morning, sentenced Dr. Ali-Gabass, a Takoradi-based medical doctor to 25 years imprisonment for sodomy. Reports reaching Docia's Blog desk indicates that Dr. Gabass looked unperturbed when his sentence was pronounced. (Obviously he was sure of a possible bail or acquittal) The Dr. who confirmed to ace broadcast journalist, Manasseh Azure Awini in October 2014 that he had anal knowledge of the minor however pleaded not guilty during his trial. The victim, who has also tested HIV positive, had gone to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for anal surgery when the broadcaster met him in his gory situation - he could neither sit nor lay on his back. His sentence has however brought some relief to the victim's family and myself as I had always prayed for a stiffer punishment for such creature who hide under the cover of human flesh to cause such heinous crime. Whiles some prayed for more years for the culprit, his lawyers have however pledged t...

The Alleged Kidnapped and Sexually Assaulted YFM Presenter, 'Adaeze Ayoko' - Display of wisdom or folly?

Image
I read with disgust an alleged kidnap and sexually assaulted Takoradi-based radio presenter 'Adaeze Ayoko' a few days ago via a Nigerian blog. I immediately condemned the act and prayed that the perpetrators be brought to face the full rigors of the law as soon as practicable. My greatest fear was that, from the media reportage, there could be a possible pay back in Nigeria looking at how barbaric the whole act and social media hype it received. The whole nation was thrown into a state of shock, with the Gender Ministry and other women's groups rising up to condemn the act. 'Adaeze' having her locks shaved by one of her 'co-actors' She was subsequently flown to the Police Headquarters and Police Hospital respectively for further clinical test and investigation. It has however come to light after investigations, that she is a full blooded Ghanaian by name,  Maame Akosua Apea Antwi from Akim Awisa in the Eastern Region and that the whole plot of the ki...

My Prayer for Nigeria

Image
I have followed with keen interest the progress of Nigeria's Presidential election results on social media and must admit that the good book has never and will never lie - that only the government of God shall stand the test of time. Kingdoms, empires and governments have come and gone - the Mongol Empire, Qing Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty, Sasanian Empire, Roman Empire, Pala Empire, Tibetan Empire all of Asia and Europe; Maj. Gen. Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, Gen. Murtala Mohammed, Maj. Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, Shehu Shagari, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, Ernest Shonekan, Gen. Sani Abacha, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Yar'Adua of Nigeria just to mention but a few. Because we draw our inspiration from the good book and hold its tenets to be unadulterated, it is imperative to call forth the hand of God over Africa and for that matter Nigeria. Ghana and Nigeria are an inseparable sister nations whose traditions and culture ar...
