But for the postponement of Real Madrid’s match with Rayo Vallecano at the Vallecas stadium on Sunday night, former Chelsea star, Micheal Essien, a Ghanaian football star would have tied the knot with his new-found love, Akosua Puni yesterday. I was reliably informed that Essien would have flown to London to join specially invited friends and football stars for the wedding.  It is also rumoured that the lucky lady at the centre of the wedding, Akosua Puni, is carrying Essien’s second child. Will actress Nadia Buari be at the wedding? Lucky you, Akosua. Shallom!

Barely 5 months after wedding Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo and her husband, musician Eugene Baah popularly known as Praye Honeho of music group Praye have welcomed their first child. The actress tweeted shortly after the delivery that: “Finally VIOLYN BLESS AYEBEA BOADU BAAH is here. I tank God 4 a safe delivery of my dota.Am nw a proud mother.To God be the glory.” Beverly Afaglo and Praye Honeho, after dating for about four years, got married on Saturday April 14, 2012 at the Action Chapel, Community 9, Tema. Congrats.

Looks like MTV's annual Video Music Awards has now become the venue du jour to announce that one is expecting a new arrival. Following in Beyonce's footsteps from last year, hip-hop luminary Wiz Khalifa confirmed on the VMAs red carpet that fiancee Amber Rose is indeed with child. It wasn't too hard to guess--rumors had already been flying for several days about the pregnancy, plus Rose was sporting a visible bump in her close-fitting lace dress--but the news was received with much excitement.
