Deputy Minister writes Letter to Late President Atta Mills

Dear Sir, In adding my voice to the numerous befitting tributes occasioned by your untimely departure from this ‘terra firma’, I evoked this Roman Catholic prayer for the dead translated from Latin into English as: “May the angels take you into Paradise, may the martyrs welcome you on your way and lead you into the Holy City Jerusalem. May the choir of angels welcome you, and with Lazarus who once was poor, may you have everlasting rest.” I am convinced Jehovah heard and answered our prayers. Please prepare a place for us; for here is still hot and the unreasonableness and the political chicanery continues unabated. Sometimes I wonder whether this whole calling – politics, is worth it. Ghana's late President John Atta Mills laid to rest

The casket being lowered down The mortal remains of Ghana's late President has been laid to rest at the Peace Park near the Christianborg Castle in Accra. This was preceeded by a mamoth burial service attended by Heads of State of 18 countries across the world. Countries which could not make it sent high-powered delegation to grace the ocassion. Notable among them included the U.S Secretary of State, Mrs. Hillary Clinton and former U.N Secretary General, Kofi Annan. One common word that run through his tributes was humility. H.E John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, rest peacefully in the bossom of Abraham till we meet again. Shalom!

Ghana Revenue Authority hold Memorial Service for Late President Atta Mills (Former Commissioner)

 The Ghana Revenue Authority today held an in-house pre-burial service for the Late President of the republic of Ghana who also served as a Commissioner in its erstwhile Internal Revenue Service.  Staff from some of its District offices joined top management staff and colleagues at the Head Office to mourn the departed hero. Present were the Board Chairman of the Authority Mr. Ernest E. Kwesie, the Commissioner General Mr. George Blankson, his associate Commissioners Mrs. Comfort Boohene-Osafo, Mr. Anthony Minlah and Major General Carl Modey. Also in attendance were his Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners. Rev. David Okoe and Oduro Yeboah consoled members of staff on the departure of the Commissioner. Delivering his address, the Commissioner General recounted how as a Commissioner the Late President championed various reforms in tax administration. New Vice President For Ghana

Following the untimely demise of Ghana's former President, John Atta Mills, and the subsequent elevation of his Vice, John Dramani Mahama to the high office of President, the position of Vice President became vacant for almost a week. Today in Parliament, a former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mr. Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur has been sworn into office as Vice President of the Republic to assist the President in the discharge of his duties. Big big congratulations to him and his family. Shalom!
